My sweet girls at Burns Park

Madeline is learning how to walk. She can take about 5-8 steps on her own. So fun to watch.

The other day we went out to Burns Park to just play around and get some pics of the girls. I actually took some pictures for a friend this past weekend and before I did that, I wanted to go out there and check the lighting, etc. Not that I am a photographer, by any means, but I do enjoy learning about it and at least getting good pics of my kids. These are just a couple so far that I have had a chance to edit, etc. Maybe I'll post some more when I'm done.

This is a test

Just trying to figure out if the whole picture in the body of the blog thing worked. I talked to a friend for a while today and we started talking about blogging...she's the one who convinced me to start one in the first place. Anyway, we keep talking about how I need a blogging tutorial and she has promised to help me this next week. She did say something about the picture button so I had to check it out...lo and behold, it's the first time I've seen the dang thing. What a loser I am...I can't believe that I've just seen this thing for the first time. So, I am checking it out and trying to see if I can import a pic...and it's an old one...literally a year old! So it worked, but I think I still need a tutorial, Rach!

We're staying put...

or at least for now anyway. The offer on our house fell through...after a long saga that literally lasted for like 4 days. The house is still on the market, but we are seriously debating whether or not we are going to leave it on till the first time home buyer's $8,000 tax credit deal is done or take it off. The other day I heard it was only 100 more days till it was over...which when you are buying doesn't seem that long, but when you are selling, it's a whole other story. There are just so many factors right now, that we are literally having to weigh ALL the options. So, right now, we are staying put...no apartment life living for this girl. We'll see what God has in store though and where He leads us.

On the move!

We sold our house! After about 8 weeks of it being on the market, countless #'s of showings and having to scramble around making sure it looked nice (which with 3 kids is not fun), 1 offer that fell through, it is SOLD! The kicker is we have to be out by August 31! Now don't get me wrong, I am not complaining by any means, it's just quick. Granted, the more and more I think about it, that weekend before then is actually good timing since come Sept. 1 Sloan will be busy with the final 2 tax deadlines of the year. Anytime after that, I think it would be me, a moving truck, 3 girls, and who knows who else to help and that would be a sight! So again, God has shown me that His timing is perfect...it may be quick, but it's perfect. So we are busy packing and trying to figure out what stuff to put in storage and what stuff to put in an apartment...yes, we are going to be living in some cramped quarters soon, but I think we can survive 6 months of that. (Ask me later though when all the girls are going crazy and I'm pulling my hair out due to the temporary loss of about 500-600 square feet)! We are leaning towards building a house, which I'm sure could be a blog in and of itself, so we shall see...trying to get everything figured out and nailed down before we decide for sure. Gotta run and pack some more boxes while Madeline is napping.

Did you see Jesus?

On July 3 I took Delaney to the dr.s just to have them check her cough. As a mom of 3 I already knew what they were going to say..."It's just a cough, give it 7-10 days and it will go away" and then send us on our way. Turns out my sweet girl had pneumonia. I'm so glad I took her in because let me tell you, I wasn't going to. I'm so sick of dr.'s bills...especially when they are for "nothing". Anyway, she had 2 chest x-rays done and thought that was the coolest thing ever! She even wanted to bring them home to show Sloan and Isabelle and everyone else (as she said).

Later that evening we went over to Sloan's parent's house for dinner. Delaney was telling them all about the dr.'s visit and her x-rays and that she got to see her stomach which was filled with bubbles, her heart, and her bones/lungs. All of a sudden, from across the table, Isabelle chimed in, "Did you see Jesus, too?" It took me a minute to get what she meant....infact, it took Sloan saying Jesus, He lives in your heart, for me to get it. What a sweet thing to say. Of course when I said not really, she didn't understand that and we all tried to explain it to her, but she was not convinced...she just thought we should be able to see Jesus on the x-ray.

Thank you Jesus for making my big "baby" girl better. We had to go back to the dr. to get new meds and now she is pretty much 100%. Now...if we could just get Isabelle better we would be good (she just came down with a fever)!

Catch up

So I haven't blogged at all lately.  Sloan got finished with tax season and we have been going ever since.  We did several projects around our house and now it is on the market...hoping it will sell soon!  It's only been 2 weeks (and a couple of days) but it already seems like it has been forever.  Try keeping your house pretty much spotless with 3 kids...hard to do and not fun!  I feel like I am constantly sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, cleaning tubs, toilets and mirrors, etc.  Oh, and the vacuum and I have become best of friends.  I know all that sounds so sarcastic, but it's already getting old.  I am trying to be patient and just rest in knowing that God's timing is perfect and He has the right buyer for us...but it is hard.  We are so ready to start making decisions as to what is next, where Delaney will be going to school in August, etc.

On a fun note, I was able to go on a long awaited girls weekend with some dear friends; Jessamy, Ashley and Haley.  We have 11 kids between the 4 of us so we were all very excited to get away for the weekend and go to Fayetteville.  It was so nice to eat out literally every meal and not have to even think about cooking.  And shopping without kids...need I say more, I don't think so!!!  We even went to see a movie...The Proposal...I don't think I have laughed that hard at a movie in a long time...if you haven't seen it, go see it!  So thankful for these girls and that the Lord has brought us together to go through life/mommyhood with...I love all of you!

April Fool's...

So I go to pick Delaney up from school today and while she's walking up to the car, I notice her teacher's face is somewhat distraught.  I was about to ask if it was a rough day when Delaney says, "I got a behavior document today!"  I'm sure my face had a look of shock on it since Delaney's card has NEVER moved off her green light.  As I look from her to Mrs. Puckett and then back to Delaney I proceed to ask, "What happened?"  They both started laughing and Delaney says (really loud)..."April Fool's!"  Then she said, "Ms. Parker told me to tell you that!"  Ms. Parker is another Kindergarten teacher and she knows that Delaney is a "good" kid at school.  We all got a good laugh and Ms. Parker was standing over there as well watching everything go down.  So, to those of you who are teachers, this is a GREAT one to pull out with the kids who literally NEVER get in trouble at school.
